My phone started as a word game my husband Bruce and I would play when one of us would misplace our cellphone. The original version had only guitar top rhythms and a short section of a hammer-down string melody that mimicked a phone ringing. When I played the song for Larry and Burton, I thought they would respond with “It is fun, but not something we can work with for these albums”. Ha! Next thing I knew Larry (a.k.a. “Li’l Lar”) created a rap arrangement with my help (a.k.a. “Certified”) along with Scott’s technical skill and resources. Later, Scott and I created the video, which by now will have been released on Youtube https://youtu.be/8W_y6PAZyj0 with me playing all of the characters thanks to Scott’s technical know-how. Did we have fun? The yellow coat was my Mum’s from the ‘50’s and the car is Bruce’s 1956 Jaguar that he is restoring.

Lyrics

My Phone
by Karen Robinson

My phone my phone, where’d I put my phone? (repeat)
Your phone was with your keys (repeat)

My keys my keys, Where’d I put my keys? (repeat)
Your keys were in your bag (repeat)

My bag, my bag, Where’d I put my bag?
Oh My bag, my bag, Where’d I put my bag?
Your bag was with your coat (repeat)

My coat, my coat, where’d I put my coat?
My coat, my coat, I cannot find my coat
Your coat was in your car (repeat)

My car my car where’d I park my car? (repeat)
Oh My keys, my keys, Where did I put my keys? (repeat)

Your keys were with your phone
Your phone was in your bag
Your bag was with your coat
Your coat was in your car
Break (sound of phone ringing…)
Oh My phone, my phone. I can hear my phone inside my car, my car.
I can hear my phone.

I hear my phone
Inside my car
I see my coat
And there’s my bag
And so, my keys
And so, my phone. I really need my phone.
Could I use your phone?

Oh Hello CAA? Can you come right away?
I won’t be very far because my keys are in my car.
And with my keys, my phone.
I really need my phone

My phone, my phone, I really need my phone
My phone, my phone, I really need my phone
